Many fabrics are suitable for the project, but the deer looks particularly good in fabrics with a certain texture. In general, soft cotton fabrics such as double gauze, triple gauze, twill/musselin, waffle pique or the waffle braided fabric used in the example are well suited - French terry, waffle jersey, jersey, terry jersey are also well suited, but woven fabrics are a little easier for beginners to work with.
