Free sewing pattern "Wet Bag"

Where to put small bits and bobs?

In our free sewing instructions, we show you how to sew a small storage bag for your favourite bits and bobs in no time at all. In just a few simple steps, you'll have sewn a small, flat bag. Also ideal as a quick last-minute gift - after all, everyone needs to store bits and bobs.

If you choose a water-repellent fabric, you can also use the bag as a wet bag for wet things. This way you can store everything wet in your bag and bring the rest of the contents home dry.

Of course, this also works the other way round - because the zipper bag made from water-repellent fabrics can also protect its contents from getting wet. For example, the bag is also great for storing things that don't like splashing water. Please note, however, that the bag will never be 100% waterproof. It is therefore better not to put it in the pool.

Do you want to store delicate items in it? Then place a volume fleece between the individual layers of fabric. This will give you more stability, more volume and more protection for delicate items.

Which fabrics is the project suitable for?

Medium-weight and lightweight woven fabrics such as poplin, canvas, cotton: Poplin, canvas, cotton twill or denim, coated cotton fabric such as coated canvas or coated poplin are particularly suitable for this.
