Description
Cotton batting is a thin fleece used for patchwork and quilting. They are softer and often thinner than polyester batting. They are made from natural fibres and are therefore breathable, warm and absorb moisture better. Thinner cotton battings are ideal for hand quilting and for making thin quilts for summer, baby quilts or bedspreads. Also ideal for allergy sufferers. Cotton batting shrinks by up to 2.5 % during the first wash, creating a more wrinkled texture compared to polyester batting (puff effect).
