Lenzing ™ Tencel ™ Lyocell fibers are obtained from sustainably grown wood from FSC-certified cultivation. Beech wood from local forests is often used. The yield per area is higher, the water consumption and the use of fertilizers and pesticides much lower than when growing cotton. The fiber extraction process is environmentally friendly and has been awarded. In a circulatory system, 99% of the required organic solvents are reused. Tencel ™ Lyocell fibers are biodegradable in soil, compost or seawater.
