Due to its original use as a sailcloth, the fabric is flame retardant, breathable and resistant to aggressive salt water.
Poplin is not stretchy and therefore more suitable for skirts, blouses, dresses and trousers. Decorative items regarding house and furnishing can also be realized very well with Poplin like pillows, covers, bed linen, curtains, tablecloths, napkins and much more are great do-it-yourself projects for cotton fabrics. The more durable and stiffer canvas is perfect for furniture and other often used items. The production of fashionable bags and backpacks made of canvas is also very popular.
