FAQ - Frequently asked questions about our shop
Questions about your order
Is there a minimum order value per order?
No, you are not bound to a minimum order value at KATTUN.
Is there a minimum purchase quantity per item?
Yes, our minimum order quantity is 0.5 metres by the metre. Beyond that, we cut for you in 10 cm increments.
How can I pay?
You can find all information on payment options here -> Payment options
How does it work with the vouchers?
Of course we also offer gift vouchers. You can either order the voucher by post as a gift card or we can send it to you by e-mail as a pdf attachment within a short time. To do this, select the type of voucher you want in the shop.
The recipient does not have to spend the entire amount at once, but can use the voucher several times.
If you want to redeem a voucher at KATTUN, please note the following: You can use your voucher to pay for items from our entire range. However, your voucher is only valid for the value of your order, i.e. if you have items in your shopping basket with a total value of less than 59 euros, you will have to pay shipping costs. From an order value of 59 euros, we will of course deliver your shopping basket free of shipping costs as usual.
You can also redeem several vouchers per order.
Unfortunately, the gift vouchers do not yet work in the app.
Why can I only order three fabric samples?
Creating fabric samples is a very time-consuming process, but we are still happy to offer this service to our customers. Unfortunately, we currently have to limit the number of fabric samples to three in order to keep the effort within limits.
Questions about the products
Can I rely on the shape and colour of your product presentation?
We create almost all of our product images ourselves in our own photo studio and prepare them for the online shop on calibrated monitors. It is therefore very important to us to display our products as true to colour and scale as possible to make it easier for you to choose the right combinations. We provide product images with a scale for each sample in the item description. However, please bear in mind that the display of your computer, tablet or smartphone may show the colours differently - just contact us if you are not sure. We are happy to help. We photograph almost all fabrics (with the exception of very large patterns such as panels, etc.) from the same distance with the same focal length in order to get a good impression of the size of the pattern in the article overview.
If you want to be on the safe side, you can also buy fabric samples and colour cards.
How do I find suitable cuff fabrics?
When creating new fabrics, we try to select a suitable cuff from our range and list it directly with the product below the description. However, you are also welcome to contact us and we will check for you whether we have a suitable cuff for your fabric in our range. Our cuff colour chart is also very helpful if you want to check at home whether fabrics match our cuffs.
Tips on the order quantity of your fabrics
The quantity ordered should of course match your planned project/pattern. However, it is often advisable to order a little more of a fabric for the following reasons:
the fabrics may shrink slightly when washed or steamed before sewing
a little reserve makes for more relaxed sewing
you have the option of spontaneously ordering a size larger
you can make changes that require additional fabric during the creative realisation of the sewing project
scraps are not waste, but can be reused for great sewing or craft projects
Why can it happen that my fabrics appear to be cut crooked?
The problem lies in duplicating the fabrics at the manufacturer, i.e. the fabrics are doubled from approx. 1.50m fabric width to 0.75m width and rolled up again to facilitate dispatch and handling in the trade. This is done by a so-called duplicating machine. Depending on the type of fabric, this often results in an uneven pull, which means that the fabric is wound up "warped". Unfortunately, this is very problematic for us retailers. We are aware of this and are in contact with the manufacturers regarding this. We try to correct the problem as best we can when cutting the orders. However, this is sometimes difficult or even impossible. In such a case, we then cut off more of the fabric so that the ordered length is always achieved at the shortest point. We therefore ask for a little indulgence if a fabric is not cut completely straight. We try to minimise this as much as possible for you.
I'm not sure about the colour and quality of the fabrics? Is it possible to obtain fabric samples?
You can order fabric samples directly from the article. You can get colour cards for many standard qualities here: Colour cards
Questions about shipping your order
How high are the shipping costs?
You can find all information about shipping costs here: Shipping costs
When will I receive my order?
Normally, we hand over your order to DHL on the same day (after the time of receipt of payment if prepayment is selected as the payment method), but no later than the next day. You should therefore receive your order within Germany within 72 hours. Deliveries to other EU countries and Switzerland take 3-7 working days. However, you will be informed about the status of your order at any time by e-mail and can also monitor it via the delivery service's shipment tracking function.
My desired article is no longer in stock or not available in sufficient quantity
If the item is out of stock, you can set up an availability request in the item description. You will then be notified by e-mail when stock is available again. Discontinued items are labelled and will not be reordered.
If there are not enough items available, please contact our support team. We will then check what is still in stock for you.
Questions about complaints and cancellation
My goods are faulty or damaged. What do I have to do?
Please contact our customer service by replying to the order confirmation or dispatch confirmation email, via the contact form or by telephone. Photos are always helpful! As a rule, we will send you a return label and you will receive a replacement or a refund. Especially when cutting duplicate fabrics, a mistake can sometimes be overlooked on the inside or underside. Of course, we make every effort to ensure that our goods leave our premises in perfect condition.
I don't like my goods or I have ordered them by mistake. What do I have to do?
Returns cause costs and environmental pollution that should not be underestimated. We ask you to choose your goods carefully and are always happy to answer your questions about items and help you put them together. Buying fabrics by the metre online is sometimes not easy. We are experts in the field, of course, and are happy to help you! You can of course make use of your right of return and send the goods back at your own expense (as long as they are still unused and in their original packaging). Please note: customised fabrics are excluded from the right of return. In this case, we still ask you to contact customer service. As customer satisfaction is particularly important to us, we usually find an amicable solution. As long as returns are still very rare, we are happy to do so.
